Episode 256: Explore the Winter Solstice

HOLISTIC SPACES PODCAST

Episode 256: Explore the Winter Solstice

For episode 256, we are taking a look at the longest night of the year, as those of us in the Northern Hemisphere observe the Winter Solstice. From a feng shui perspective, the winter is considered a yin season, where we start to move inward physically as well as emotionally. The yin concept is also about slowing down, and emptiness, making winter the perfect time for introspection and self-reflection.

Discussed in the episode:

  • How everything in the universe is made up of both yin and yang energy, as interdependent primordial forces in opposition

  • The cool, quiet stillness of water qi

  • Why this time of year is a good time to cultivate water energy and qi

  • How we can celebrate and recognize the winter solstice, becoming more aware of the yin and yang energy

And much more.

In the northern hemisphere, we’re approaching the winter solstice, the darkest and most yin time of year. In this episode, Laura and Anjie talk about the meaning of the winter solstice and how to work with the energy of the season.

  • The meaning of the winter solstice in feng shui

  • What kinds of energy are associated with the winter solstice

  • How to bring more yang energy into your life during a yin season (a.k.a. what to do when it’s cold and dark and you never want to leave the house)

  • Our connection with the cycles of nature

  • Why it’s a good time to rest, recuperate, and prepare for the year ahead

  • Since our 2019 New Year Reset Package was so popular last year, we’re offering a 2020 version! And we have a special discount for podcast listeners!

FENG SHUI AND THE WINTER SOLSTICE

We just left Christmas and New Year's is upon us. Since the winter solstice (for the northern hemisphere) was last week, this episode is all about feng shui and season of winter!

This winter, remember to embrace the quiet, but still plan and set an intention for how you want to FEEL, whether that be inspired, or happy or helpful or successful… and if you make a personal shrine send us a photo! Or just tell us what word or feeling you come up with!

As always, I encourage you to submit questions and floor plans to our Q&A Sundays at info@holisticspaces.com and visit the Holistic Spaces store to find many of the items discussed in this podcast.
